On the occasion of the 16th edition of the Quadriennale d'Arte entitled Altri tempi, altri miti at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome (October 13rd 2016-January 8th 2017), Denis Viva curates the section Periferiche. Focused on the 'conscious polycentrism' (Enrico Castelnuovo and Carlo Ginzburg, Centro e periferia, 1979) of Italian visual culture, Viva invites eight artists who work 'in periphery', geographically or conceptually, to reflect on the topic of marginality. Graduated students of the contemporary art history course of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (2016/2017) questioned them and wrote a chronology about their work.
